Well I'm back from vacation in the Caribbean and to be honest it's been pretty bad news in the meantime.
First of all, the death of Luther Vandross has sparked a bunch of heartfelt musical tributes and rightly so. Luther was one of the few constants in my house growing up, "Give Me The Reason" being my dad's particular favourite. And then yesterday the bombings in London means the mood in the city is in stark contrast to that of a day before when the city won the Olympic bid.
Of course the timing with the G8 summit probably played a large part in the bombing.
But do we really need this kind of ill-conceived analysis?
:"I think that works to our advantage, in the Western world's advantage, for people to experience something like this together, just 500 miles from where the attacks have happened." --Brian Kilmeade, Fox News
And on that note...
