We Got It 4 Free
A couple of months ago I was out at the EMP Pop Conference in Seattle where I presented a paper on the trend of free mixtapes being increasingly made available online in a post DJ Drama arrest, post-In Rainbows world. By the way has anyone else noticed how Radiohead has now become a verb? As in "I'm going to Radiohead my new single?"
I've recently expanded the ideas I had and talked to a few artists and the result was in article in the June issue of Exclaim! magazine. With Kardinal Offishall's "Dangerous" single with Akon literally blowing up and his savvy mixtape game, not to mention his Toronto roots, it was a no-brainer to talk to the man.

At the beginning of the article Kardinal talks about a new mixtape that was to drop just before the release of his new album Not 4 Sale. In my article it's called Weapons of Mass Eruptions, but they've obviously decided to change it up, no doubt inspired by the current NBA playoff ads(ie: "Where dangerous happens" is now the tagline).
Anyway, the mixtape is now out and of course is available through kardinaloffishall.com.
The article, featuring Kardinal Offishall and other artists and experts is available at the link below.
