Watch Out for Tawiah
Amy Winehouse's brace of Grammy wins definitely confirms Mark Ronson's ascendance as a producer. After all, it was he who prodded her to write "Rehab." But Ronson's acheivements go well beyond that song and definitely extend to the whole of Back to Black plus all the other various projects he has his finger in.
Ronson seems to be surrounding himself with some very talented musicians these days and one of them is South London's Tawiah. She's been a backing vocalist for Ronson on tour, but now she's ready to break out on her own. Her song "Watch Out" was one of the best songs I heard emerge from the UK last year and apparently she's about to drop an EP there very soon. Here's an excellent recent performance Tawiah did for the BBC recently featuring the aforementioned "Watch Out" and the new slow-burning potential hit "Every Step."
