On my way to an Eglinton West barber shop on the weekend I passed a Toronto Star box with these words emblazoned across the top of the paper. It's not every day one of the city's major dailies is quoting Jay-Z on the front page so I took a closer look. Turns out the article in question was on Toronto basketball player Sam Ashaolu who was one of the five Duquesne University basketball players shot recently at a party in Pittsburgh. Despite being shot in the head Ashaolu is making remarkable progress inspiring his friends and family. Morgan Campbell's story is an insightful look into Ashaolu's road to recovery and nods to the unlikely role the Jigga man has had in his recovery. Well worth reading.
