It's been a long time...
In blogging terms this is a bit of an eternity to not have posted, but now it's time to get back to this.
It's the time of the year where year-end round ups start to make the rounds. Personally, I've been hard at work on Exclaim!'s 2004 year-end issue which will drop in tangible form on the streets at the end of this week, but I'll post some links too when they become available. It's actually been a pretty strong year for hip-hop in my opinion and much of what I liked made the magazine's year-end list.
It's also that time when you want to look ahead and in 2005 where it looks like some futuristic soul coud be the lick.
While their music has been the source of much heated debate in cyberspace, you can count me on the side of the admirers of Sa-Ra Creative Partners, who, if you haven't heard of them are a production team/group who sound like their stuck in limbo between p-funk and J-dilla. Not a bad place to be in my opinion.
Courtesy of ABB Soul, Check Glorious, for yourself , if you haven't done so already.
In closing, ODB's recent passing, caught me off guard and surprised me. But then I remembered writing this Wu-Tang Clan timeline that he managed to dominate. Given the events of 1998 maybe it wasn't so surprising after all. R.I.P. ODB.
